It is tough to be a newborn in the hospital, but it makes it alot easier when you have so many great visitors! Tahlia met Tirzah right after she was born (Tirzah was there for the delivery, and was one of the first to hold her), and she first met Grandma Judy that night, too. Tahlia met her big brothers when they all visited (we love that new family shot above!). Sebastian even found a way to keep Tahlia from crying:

Tahlia also got to see Grandma Judy and Tata when
they brought her siblings to the hospital

Aunt Shyla visited, and played with Tahlia’s hair

Later, Tahlia met her other grandparents, Baka and Deda

Tahlia was also visited by Aunt Laura, who brought Tirzah back for another visit the next day

Tahlia also had a great visit with Uncle Andrew, Aunt Amal, and Aunt Vlatka on her last night in the hospital (but Dad wasn’t there, so no pics yet).

Tirzah, Siddhartha, and Sebastian are very proud to introduce their little sister, Tahlia Mehri Rao. Tahlia was born at 3:33 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. She weighed in at 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 18 1/2 inches long. Born with a healthy cry and a full head of hair, she quickly wrapped her dad (and everyone else) around her very tiny little finger.

Dad was able to ‘catch’ Tahlia, as he did his older kids, as well as cut the umbilical cord. Big sister Tirzah was present for the delivery (thanks to Grandma Judy for bringing her to the hospital at 3am!), and was one of the first to hold her little sister. They almost didn’t make it in time- Tamara held off on pushing until they arrived. 10 minutes of pushing later, Tahlia made her full-throated entrance. While Tahlia will get the bulk of the attention, Tamara was really the star and MVP of the night. Way to go, Mommy!

Mommy and new daughter will spend the next couple of days recovering from their late night and look forward to entertaining visitors. Tahlia cannot wait to meet the rest of her family.
